Popular restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has announced its support for the McCartney family’s ‘Meat Free Monday’ campaign, which challenges Brits to go meat-free and plant a tree every Monday in November (1st-22nd).
As a result, Frankie & Benny’s has teamed up with award-winning, vegan comfort food brand Biff’s to encourage guests to swap out their existing Frankie’s Sticky Chicken Wings for Biff’s special one wing to rule them all.
During World Vegan Month, guests are urged to replace their Sticky Chicken Wings with ‘Biff’s Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz,’ lowering their carbon footprint and saving money. ‘The swap’ is available for £1, with proceeds going to ‘Carbon Neutral Britain’ to reduce carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e).
Accepting this challenge will not only save £5 (both wing selections are ordinarily £6), but it will also help offset the carbon impact, as each chicken wing dish will be replaced with vegan wingz, saving roughly 2kg of CO2e. Also, for every wing portion sold, Frankie & Benny’s will give a donation to an environmental charity and plant a tree with Carbon Neutral. These trees will aid in the absorption of carbon dioxide, the refraction of solar heat, and the enhancement of fauna, ecology, and biodiversity.
For the four Mondays in November, Meatless offer from Frankie & Benny’s ‘BBQ Vegan Wingz’, Biff’s Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz drenched in BBQ sauce with a sugar cane ‘bone, will be served with vegan mayo for just £1 (normally £6).
“This is an exciting partnership and one we’re particularly thrilled to be embarking on with Biff’s while supporting Meat Free Monday,” said Jon Knight, Managing Director of the leisure and concessions firm. Meat Free Monday is a great way to encourage positive change in the community, and as a brand, we’re proud to be doing our part. Frankie & Benny’s will donate a portion of every vegan wingz portion sold to assist fund tree planting with Carbon Neutral Britain as part of their forest projects.”
“We’re pleased to be coming together with Frankie & Benny’s, celebrating Meat Free Monday and challenging consumers throughout the country to try something different and make a positive impact on the environment,” said Biff Bloom-Burrows, co-founder of Biffs. And just because there are no animals doesn’t mean there isn’t any enjoyment to be had. Our Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz was made with flavor in mind and are all on the experience, which is why you can eat them like a regular wing with a sugarcane ‘bone.'”
It is worthy to note that Biff’s is famous for their award-winning Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz, a famous gastronomic delight since 2017, so no need to worry about taste. Biff’s Crispy Fried Jackfruit Wingz is made with tender 12-spiced jackfruit in a panko crumb and a particular sugarcane ‘bone’ for an excellent eating sensation.
Paul, Mary, and Stella McCartney founded ‘Meat Free Monday’ in 2009 to encourage people to help slow climate change and improve their health.
