A new powder form, plant-based meat is now available in the UK. Following eight years of research and great success in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, Greenforce, a German food tech start-up is extending its full range across the UK, currently available to order for home delivery.
The “Easy Mixes” are made up from high-quality pea protein and only need water as an additional ingredient to make it into a versatile texture which can then be formed into, for example, burgers, meatballs or mince.
The development team at Greenforce believes its product to be “the most sustainable, plant-based meat in the world.” With the powder form allowing for an extended shelf-life, there’s likely to be less waste; this is enhanced by the product being designed for people to focus on cooking accurate portion sizes, saving the remaining powder for future meals.
You can find the different variations of the Easy Mixes available from the UK webshop.
Greenforce founder, Thomas Isermann commented that “the UK is an incredibly important market for the plant-based world. The vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian population in the country is growing rapidly, so it’s crucial that we provide healthy, planet-friendly and tasty food for them. But it’s not just them we are focussing on – we are also focussed on meat-eaters. We have over eight years of research behind us, helping us develop a range of products that should satisfy the tastebuds of anyone, whether you’re vegan, veggie or neither.”
The company has also been blessed with a truly inspirational ambassador, in the form of body builder (and of course vegan) Patrik Baboumian. You may recognise his name from The Games Changers on Netflix.
On the Greenforce expansion, Baboumian said, “Our ultimate mission is to revolutionise the food industry with unique products that don’t come at the expense of animals, the environment or our health. We believe in a sustainable future that harnesses the power of plants and value high-quality proteins. Without any unnecessary additives, in just a few steps, you can make meatballs, sausages, mince or a juicy burger out of powder.
