Lidl Launches Affordable Vegan Beauty Range

Widely known for affordable groceries, international supermarket chain Lidl has introduced a new affordable vegan beauty range – all priced at £1.99.

Vegan skincare has been a popular topic in 2020, and now with brands like Lidl providing affordable ranges, there’s no reason to not get into some self-care – especially if you want to try or are just transitioning into Vegan products. Some have even spotted the similarities between Lidl’s new range and The Bodyshop’s olive oil-based range from their similar green themed packaging.

Aside from being affordable, Lidl’s new beauty range, ‘Pure Olive’ by Cien, is made of organic olive oil. Olive oil is a great skincare ingredient – it contains a large number of antioxidants and vitamins which helps skin problems like acne, eczema and psoriasis with its moisturising properties.

  • Pure Olive Shower Gel – Gently Cleanses, Invigorates Body & Senses (for all skin types). Shower gels can be much more convenient to wash with – they foam fast and clean the body well and due to its olive oil base, can provide rich moisture for the body.
  • Pure Olive Body Lotion – Intensive Care & 24-Hour Moisture (for all skin types). This is a great after-shower step for all skin types; due to its olive oil base, it can also provide a moisturising layer to the body especially during months like winter, where skin is more prone to feeling dry.
  • Pure Olive Hand Cream – For Dry & Rough Skin. This product is mainly targeted to those with very dry skin as olive oil can sometimes feel a little greasy on the skin. However, with everyone washing their hands very often due to COVID-19, everyone’s hands may need a little more care.
  • Pure Olive Face Cream – Intensive Care & 24-Hour Moisture (for all skin types). Though this product is advertised for all skin types, it is more beneficial with those with dry skin – the replenishing properties of olive oil can provide the much-needed moisture. However, for oilier skin types, it may feel a little too moisturising and greasy and you may want to skip out on this one.

While these products are labelled as for all skin types, you can check out our full article regarding Vegan skincare covering all different types of skin!
