Plant-based brand Squeaky Bean has announced the launch of their Thai marinated chicken style pieces in World Meat Free Week.
The pieces are made with pea protein to give the ‘chicken’ its realistic texture and are high in protein and low in saturated fat. The chicken can be enjoyed as a snack straight from the pack, fried or cooked in the microwave for 20 seconds. According to the company, the chicken is excellent in Pad Thai, salads, stir-fries and sandwiches.
Squeaky Bean’s Co-Creator Sarah Augustine says, ‘The Ready-to-Eat Thai Marinated Chicken Style Pieces are the latest in our range of inspired products made from wildly delicious plants. Not only are they packed with flavour, but they are also simple to prepare – whether it’s stuffing a pitta or sandwich or frying with rice and noodles.Â
‘More than ever, Squeaky Bean is the sidekick in the kitchen for those who love plant-based food. No longer does vegan food need to be bland, boring or burdensome to prepare and enjoy.’
The company had also partnered with top vegan brands like Vivera and Minor Figures last month to launch a plant-based box in light of the COVID-19 lockdown. They also have a range of meat-free nuggets, ‘fishless’ fish fingers, vegan pancakes and sandwich slices that are available in Asda, Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.
The Squeaky Bean vegan Thai Marinated Chicken Style Pieces are available in the chilled aisle of Tesco. And their Kick of Tikka and Sweet Smokey BBQ Chicken Pieces are set to launch in Co-op stories on 22nd June.
