More Supermarkets Adding Vegan Foods To Their Shelves

Both UK and US supermarkets are beginning to open their arms to vegan foods, be it by adding more vegan products or ultimately introducing a new vegan brand.

In the UK, naturally fast-food chain LEON is launching a selection of vegan-friendly products at selected Sainsbury’s today. The products now available are their signature gluten-free waffle fries and their vegan ‘LOVe’ Burger Sauce, Korean Chilli Mayo, and Harissa & Sundried Aioli.

LEON is no stranger to Sainsbury’s as last year they launched their first-ever grocery range in the supermarket last year with their vegan mayonnaises, as well as vinegar and oils.

Chief commercial officer of LEON, Charlotte Di Cello, has said that they know how popular their products are, so expanding their range will ‘help more people enjoy naturally fast food at home.’

While in the US, vegan brand Alpha Foods have launched their meatless, dairy-free, and plant-based crispy vegan chicken patties at Costco in Los Angeles, Hawaii, Texas, and the Southeast. This comes after retailers add more plant-based options admit meat shortages. To help people in lockdown, Alpha Foods have also created a free digital cookbook to create meals with the products.

Both LEON and Alpha Foods are available at the supermarkets right now.
