Vegan sales rise by 500% in a year for Aldi

Latest News

Following an impressive enthusiasm for this year’s Veganuary, Aldi has seen an incredible rise of 500% in sales of it’s plant-based products compared to 2021. This is double the percentage of last year’s sales when compared to those in 2020.

As ever, Veganuary has seen the emergence of a wide variety of vegan treats and ingredients to the supermarket shelves. With each year becoming more inspiring, more available and let’s face it…more convenient than the last.

But with every finger crossed, do we believe these impressive ranges will remain for the rest of the year?

Well, as a result of the flourishing demand, it seems Aldi intends to continue with the success by expanding on its plant-based selection.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi commented: “Veganuary is getting bigger and bigger each year as the UK’s appetite and interest in plant-based food grows. In response to that demand, we’re continuing to expand our vegan offering, giving our shoppers plenty of choice and all at great value. But it’s also a trend that we’re witnessing year-round and, as more and more people adopt this diet, we expect these products to remain popular throughout the year.”

But Aldi is already a favourite of many, with this year’s Veganuary seeing it’s “largest vegan range yet.” And with budget in mind, the supermarket is proud to say that prices start from as little as 55p for it’s vegan range and includes products such as vegan meats, snacks, ready meals and desserts. In fact, a couple of months ago, it even introduced its first dairy-free cheese.

Take a look at the Aldi website for some fantastic vegan meal inspiration; it’s full of easy to make but impressive ideas, proving it doesn’t need to be complex nor expensive to live a plant-based life.
