A total of 32 products registered by the Vegan Trademark, from 14 beauty brands, have been nominated for the Free From Skincare Awards 2021.

The 2021 Free From Skincare Awards have nominated 32 products registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark.

Founded in 2011, the Free From Skincare Awards commemorate brands working hard to create products that exclude harsh, irritating or non-vegan ingredients consumers need or want to avoid.

The 32 Vegan Trademark-certified products that are nominated as finalists come from 14 brands. These include Queenie Organics’s Baby Safe Hand and Body Cream, nominated under the first category, Family Skincare. Hair Care, the third category, includes Beauty Kitchen’s The Sustainables Intense Moisture Shampoo Bar and HAER’s SUSINUM Luxuriant Hair Oil, with Holy Lama Naturals nominated twice, both for its Ayurvedic Herbal Hair Oil and Eco Warrior Shampoo Bar.

The Eco Warrior Hand and Body Bar by the Little Soap Company is nominated for Best Body Care (Rinse Off), and Bowe Organics’s Brow Oil and Lip Rescue Balm is a finalist for Eye Care and Lip Care respectively.

Soap Bars, the ninth category, is expected to be the toughest, with a total of 25 nominees. These include Holy Lama Naturals’s Rainforest Soap, Little Soap Company’s Natural Sweet Orange and The Sustainables Botanic Bliss Organic Vegan Hand and Body Bar by Beauty Kitchen.

Beauty Kitchen has also been nominated for the Toners, Waters and Spritzes awards with its Sensitive Solutions SOS Skin Shield+ alongside Hemptouch’s Moisturising Bright Essence and Nourish London’s Antioxidant Peptide Mist.

Little Soap Company, which first registered for a Vegan Trademark in 2017, is also nominated in the 16th category, Problem Skin, for its Charcoal with Tea Tree and Lavender, alongside the Melia Rose SC by Queenie Organics.

Serum ‘Ahiflower’ by Asyva and Beauty NightCap by Luna Organic Skincare will be vying against each other for Best Face Oil. BAO Skincare’s Nourish Urself Bam is up for Face Care (Leave On) and Maison Meunier’s Gentle Cleansing Balm for Face Care (Rinse Off). The deodorants category sees Salt of the Earth’s Unscented Natural Deodorant Balm and Scence’s Pure Deodorant Balm as finalists too.

Additionally, many brands currently undergoing the Vegan Trademark application process are also nominated as finalists for the 2021 Free From Skincare Awards, like SAKRID, Lily and Rabbit, Maiiro and Skin:Genius.

Ericka Durgahee, marketing manager at The Vegan Society, said: “Every day, we get to work closely with these inspiring and hardworking brands that are doing their bit to create products that are not only kinder for animals and the environment but also kinder on our hair, skin and nails too.

“Even being recognised is a huge achievement for many smaller but very hardworking brands and everyone at The Vegan Society will be cheering on our trademark holders from the sidelines when the winners are revealed.”

The winners for the 2021 Free From Skincare Awards will be announced in early July.
